It seems that for every type of mineral makeup there is also a different technique to apply it. Now, each company may have slight differences in their makeup that when it is applied a certain way will make it look or adhere better. However, there are some very basic guidelines to applying mineral makeup that will work with almost any brand you buy. Of course, it’s always preferable that you develop your own personal style- your own touch. You know how you like your makeup to look, so practice, practice, practice until you get your application method how you like it. After all, it is your face.

Applying Foundation/ Finishing Powder

Foundation is admittedly the hardest to apply. You see some brands that say “swirl, tap, buff” and other brands that say “don’t!” What are you supposed to do?

The general rule of thumb is that if a mineral makeup contains bismuth oxychloride, you’ll likely have to buff it in, and buff it in well, for the makeup to look its best. Generally a kabuki brush is used with this technique.

What’s A Kabuki?

Good question! It’s a very densely packed brush. It gives very heavy coverage because so much more makeup is left on the bristles after you tap. It’s a good option for people who want a more opaque look or need heavier coverage. Usually with a kabuki you must buff the minerals into your skin, or else you’ll look streaky, emphasize your pores, etc.

Buffing techniques, usually with a kabuki, are known to irritate sensitive skin. Even women without sensitive skin have problems with irritation. Remember, it’s “swirl, tap, buff.”

Fluffy Brushes

Using a fluffy face brush is the other popular way to apply mineral makeup. Better quality makeup is more pigmented, so using a kabuki is out of the question for most women. But a nice fluffy brush is just the ticket since a little makeup goes a long way. Whether you choose synthetic or animal hair brushes is up to you. Both can be equally good, depending on the quality. The same basic rules apply as with the kabuki- swirl your brush in the makeup, tap off the excess and the brush in a downward motion over your face. No need to buff. If you’d like more coverage, just repeat the steps again.

“Swirl, tap, brush.” Almost the same words, but incredibly different effects.

Applying Foundation Wet

Wet? Yup. There are some gals who prefer the finish when mineral makeup is applied wet. There are a couple of ways to do it.

With A Brush- Mix your foundation and some water/moisturizer/lotion, etc. until a creamy consistency. Then dip your brush in it and apply in a downward motion. It will dry to a soft powder.

With A Puff/Sponge- You can either dampen your puff or sponge and dip it into your foundation and apply in a downward motion or mix the foundation with water/moisturizer/lotion and apply with a sponge. It will dry to a soft powder.

Finally, you can apply your foundation dry, then mist with a hydrosol or something similar and either use a brush or a sponge to smooth the moisture into the powder. Be sure to use a downward motion. Some gals even like to layer their makeup this way. Powder, mist, smooth. Powder, mist, smooth.

Why The Downward Motion?

Good question. Your pores and facial fuzz lay that way naturally. When you smooth your makeup that direction it makes a more “natural” look.

Other Facial Applications

For your other color cosmetics applied to face, here are the general outlines.

Concealor- Using a taklon concealor brush or an all-over eyeshadow brush, dip it into the concealor or foundation you’re using, tap off most of the excess and apply directly to the area you want to conceal. Blend very, very well. If you’re using an all over concealor, complexion enhancer, finishing powder, etc. use a fluffy face brush and swirl, tap and brush lightly in a downward motion.

Blush- Swirl, tap, brush in a slight curve from the apple of your cheek to your hairline. A nice fluffy blush brush works best.

Eyeshadow/ Eyeliner Application

This is the really fun stuff. You can apply mineral makeup wet or dry. Applying it wet is called “foiling” and makes the colors more bold and can even change them slightly in some cases.

For regular application, simply dip your brush into the color, tap off the excess and apply like you normally would.

For foiling, mix some minerals with water, hydrosol, eye primer, etc. until a creamy consistency. Then apply as you normally would. When dry you can buff with a dry brush to blend (but this may cause some of the mica to come away).

The foiling method works very well for eye lining. Colors that might be too bold to wear on your eye make great liner colors. Foiling them will help them last longer and show up better.

And that’s it! These basic tips should help you apply mineral make up like a pro. Play around with it, develop your own style and technique, and most of all…Have Fun!

There are countless women’s golf shoes on the market today. With women’s entry into a traditionally male-dominated sport, it’s good that the market is finally catching up by offering a variety of shoe options for the dedicated female golfer.

But with so many choices comes a number of decisions as well. One of the first choices you’ll face is what style of shoe you want. Some of the more traditional styles, such as saddle shoe, wing-tipped golf shoe, and others, are available in women’s sizes and cuts.

Other options include more modern shoes, including canvas and suede flats, golfing sandals, and modern athletic style shoes designed specifically to be worn on the golf course.

Another decision is whether you will be going with spiked bottom shoes or not. Golf spikes are very traditional and have long been part of the game. At first, they were always made of metal, but as plastic and rubber gained more prominence in all things manufactured, golf shoes were changed as well. Now, women’s golf shoes use hard rubber spikes, but there are plenty of non-spiked shoes available. The best way to navigate this part of your shoe-buying decision is to call and ask your regular courses what their policies are regarding spikes.

Size also matters. Because of this, it’s very important to try on golf shoes in person. Yes, there are many retailers available online, and web based sales will probably give you the widest selection. But do not underestimate the importance of having worn a certain brand of shoe before. Sizes can fluctuate between brands, and not all women’s golf shoes are sized the same. Buy your first pair in person, and then go online in the future once you have a brand you know fits you well.

Comfort is one of the most important elements in your shoe purchasing decision. Comfort isn’t an issue of vanity; it’s an issue of health: physical health, and the health of your golf game, too! Shoes that fit well and do not rub are important to avoid blisters. They should also be supportive so that you do not develop back problems. Uncomfortable shoes detract from your game and can make every swing, and every walk between holes miserable. Make sure you get shoes that feel good.

Then there is price. Shoes designed for a specific sport are often expensive, especially from the high quality athletic brand names. Make sure you’re getting a shoe that you feel good about and will wear before you spend the money. A smart buy will be worth it; a hasty buy will not.

And finally, make sure when buying women’s golf shoes that you get a style you like. From spikes to shape and color, you deserve shoes that you feel good in and about. They won’t make you a pro, but they’ll make you feel good every time you walk up to the tee.

Finding womens dress slacks that fit is challenging at any age, and more so for the post-50 figure. Let’s start by agreeing that most of us want slacks that give the impression of a long, lean leg. This rules out any design element that breaks the smooth movement of the eye from waist to ankles. For example, horizontally placed pockets on the derriere of jeans draw the eye across the widest part of our bodies.

If you are short, you especially want to avoid horizontal stripes, cuffs, or a chain belt low on the hips. A vertical pinstripe is the only print worth considering for women’s dress slacks. It creates the ultimate illusion of a long, lean vertical line. Pinstripes have the added benefit of looking chic in almost all business situations.

Avoid flowers, geometric prints, plaids, all-over embroidery, and just about every other kind of print. Even all-over tonal prints make our hips and thighs more expansive by catching and holding the viewer’s gaze. Slacks that hit below the belly button are not appropriate for business wear, no matter how many times we see this in the mass media. No and no and no.

When ordering online, I often order two sizes in the same color. It’s worth the return postage to try on garments in the comfort of my home. The alternative is driving from store to store, desperately hoping to find something I want that fits and is affordable.

Here are some tips for fitting your slacks:

* Sit in the pants. Do not sit on gingerly on the edge of a bench in a fitting room. Sit d-o-w-n. The fabric should not not bind or feel tight anywhere – waist, crotch, and upper legs.

* Visually, women’s dress slacks should appear to hang from the waist.

Avoid horizontal lines. For pants and jeans with pockets on the back, look in a three-way mirror before buying. The waist line around your body should be parallel to floor. The waist tends to dip lower across tummy if one is overweight.

If your stomach creates a pooched-out front, look for slacks with a single or double-pleated front. If nothing can be done, cover up with a tunic blouse or long jacket. It may be worth your investment in time and money to find a seamstress to make one or two perfectly fitted work pants. A quality fabric, such as wool, cotton blend, or silk, should last many years. I take good care of my dry-cleaning only, professional wardrobe by removing these garments as soon as I come home from the office.

* Length: For long slacks, there’s two rules. First, don’t drag the hem all over the floor. You must not be able to accidentally step on your own pants. Second, you should be able to see only the barest hint of the top of the shoe when you walk.

It is acceptable to see the toe of your pointy-toed cowboy boots when wearing slim-legged sports pants. The inseam is the length of the pant from the seam that extends inside the leg, from crotch to hem. When purchasing women’s pants online, knowing your inseam is essential.

Fabrics: Avoid fabrics that will radiate wrinkles from the crotch when you stand. This is called binding, and it means the pants are too tight or the fabric is inappropriate. A touch of Dacron, polyester, silk, or Spandex will prevent cotton and linen from wrinkling. Spandex and other stretch fibers have the added benefit of enhancing the trouser fit.

In sum, the best-fit women’s slacks strive to achieve an unbroken eye-line from waist to toe. Do not buy anything that’s too tight or readily shows wrinkles. Take care of your investments in quality garments, and you will enjoy them for several years.

Ok, it is summer in Florida…heat index has soared to 112 degrees.! It is scorching even in the shade. We feel like we are melting as soon as we step out the door and sometimes even inside, the air conditioner just can’t keep up. We can hardly stand being outside because it is a blast from an oven. Oh no…how do we keep our makeup from just melting off our face and keeping that fresh look in this weather? We still want to look our best for the summer. The wilted flower look is definitely not in!!

There are a few simple steps to keep your makeup looking fresh all day long. Know that you CAN keep your makeup looking fresh all day. Also consider what your activities are in the heat and apply your makeup according to the activity. First step of course is quality skin care products. If you have oily skin in this hot and humid weather, it is imperative that you have a quality skin care line that works for YOUR skin. Often times, oily skin gets oilier just trying to make up for its lost of moisture. Using a cleanser and a moisturizer every morning and every night will help control oil. There are also specialty supplemental products for extreme oily and extremely dry skin. Oil Control Lotion and Oil Mattifier are two great products from Mary Kay.

Blotter papers are also essential to keep makeup fresh all day long. Just press on face and remove excess oil without disturbing your makeup! These papers are mini miracles! They are inexpensive and are truly life saving in the summer months. If you absolutely do not have any or find yourself out…check out the toilet seat covers that are found in most public bathrooms. They are made of the same paper as blotting paper! With a blotting paper it is easy as blotting your face. You will see the oil removed and the makeup will look fresh! Please always blot before you powder otherwise you are making mud!

Next step is to take mineral powder foundation for a test drive this summer. If you are typically used to the coverage of a liquid foundation, you may find mineral powder to be refreshingly light and oil absorbing while at the same time offering you great coverage. The trick is in the application so be sure to follow instructions carefully! I like to use a mineral powder that is transfer resistant and layerable for that flawless coverage! Mineral powder foundation is ideal for all age groups. It does NOT rest in the fine lines on a more mature face! It is an amazing product.

When your outside activities call for just a light application of makeup, you may want to try a Tinted Moisturizer with SPF. It is not only time saving with several steps in one (spf coverage, moisturizer, and a light tint.) It gives you a light coverage when you will be more active outdoors.

See, with just a few tips, we women can look as beautiful as fresh flowers and leave the wilted look behind!

Hair styles have always been an important part of a woman’s personal style. Whether your hair is long, short or somewhere in between, the different hair styles you choose are an excellent way to incorporate fun, or even more serious side of your personality. Hair braids and extensions are perfect to do just that. Tresses hair can help you achieve those dreams by providing you with the natural hair extensions. Braiding was simply a way of ornamental style their hair, especially for women and children. Hair is a braided hairstyle, which consists of three strands of hair intertwined. These braids can be worn as a major in the back like a ponytail.

There may also be two braids on either side of his head like pigtails, but they are braided. It is relatively simple to braid hair. Many Native American women wore their hair in braids, because it has so long, and he wore braided made it much easier to manage. In some indigenous American cultures, men should wear braids in their hair because it has some religious meaning. Tresses hair is a wholesale distributor and retail hair, synthetic hair, hair accessories and hair care products (including hair extensions high quality) to suit all hair types and styles. In some of the Native American Indian tribes, namely braided hair is a vital part of their lives.

Wearing braids could mean the status of a person in the tribe. Sometimes, only the head of medicine or of man could wear braids. At other times, young warriors braided hair and braids decorated with feathers, beads or leather. However, for some tribes of Indians, only women can have long hair, they were the only ones who could braid. In some tribes, unmarried women wearing two braids trailing their return while married women wore a braid. They have become very good at weaving long hair strands to develop styles, weaving many times in a variety of materials such as coloured yarn, feathers, beads, leather straps, and even fur.

If you try to braid hair wet, it will not work very well, because all strands of hair does kind of “melt” together. You want to begin by the hair evenly divided into three sections, ensuring that each section remains separate. Place the left side of the left hair between your index and thumb. Let hang section free environment. Then place the right to the section of law hair between your thumb and forefinger. Then take the section of the middle and pull it behind the right section. Then, the section of the middle left behind section. Basically, you want to create a permanent structure interrelationship between the three sections of hair.

It is the most common thing for women to have jewelry in different colors, shapes and sizes. For men, however, it’s an entirely different story. Men’s jewelry can be quite limited, with only watches, necklaces and bracelets listed as the most common items. Many men, though, have already started to realize that there’s another important men’s accessory that they always need to have ready, and these are the cufflinks. It may be one of the lesser known accessories, compared to the more popular watch and bracelet, but it remains to be one of the most significant none the less.

Cufflinks are said to pre-date zippers, safety pins, Velcro and even the straight pin. It is a decorative fastener that holds together a cuff, hence the name cufflinks, on the sleeve of a tuxedo shirt or a dress shirt. It acts as a fastener that replaces the role of a conventional button. The basic principle of its design is made up of a cylindrical post with a decorative end.

As early as 900 years BC, cufflinks were already in use and worn by Vikings. During this time ancient people wore them as adornments. They served as a mark of honor, gallantry or high status in society. The French cufflinks, which are probably the most popular type today, were invented only in the mid-1800s.

In earlier times cufflinks were often made to symbolically represent ancient gods, were sometimes made as rewards for great battles won, and were even used to mark the birth, wedding and coronation of kings and emperors. The latter can be best exemplified today by the recent production of collector’s cufflinks as political memorabilia presented to a short list of campaign workers.

At present, the cufflink has been a popular accessory worn by men in special events such as weddings. We even have what we call now the groomsmen cufflinks. As the name implies, it is worn by groomsmen who play important roles in a wedding ceremony. For this type of men’s jewelry, there are a lot of designs to choose from. There are the ‘double-sided cufflinks’ that have two similar faces with a metal link connection. There are ‘chain cufflinks’ which are similar to the double-sided cufflinks, but use a chain to link the faces of the cufflinks. The ‘snap cufflinks’ which have two separate pieces snapped together. And then there is the more traditional ‘push through cufflink’ where one side pushes through the cuff holes and swivels closed while the opposite side has the decorated face for all to see

With the great history that comes before it, cufflinks need to be worn properly. They are used in garments with button holes but instead of a button, the cufflink is used for a more elegant and stylish appeal. The choice of material, color or style of the cufflink is purely personal, but should be consistent with the type of the event to be attended and how formal it will be. Remember that cufflinks are considered to be a mark of distinction. Thus, the next time you dress up for an occasion, try wearing cufflinks instead of just simple buttons!

This clue will make your stable ready prior to the time you would usually have to wait to harvest it. Take all of your horses out of the stable and make sure you have a few horses that are 38% ready or more. For this hint the horses don’t need to be 100% ready to harvest at all. Put one that is 38% (or more) ready back into your stable first and then put in about 5 or more of your other horses in. The other ones you put back in can be 0% ready it doesn’t matter. As soon as you put that one horse in that was at least 38% ready, your stable will be ready to harvest. You can do this again and again depending on how many horses you keep out that are 38% or higher. When you put the one in that is 38% ready then put the ones back in that are 0% that you just took out from your earlier go so you don’t use up the ones that you can use (those that are 38% or higher) to harvest your stable again. That wonderful thing about this tip is that you don’t need to wait for your horses to reach the 100% ready mark which certainly makes it all a lot less tedious or time consuming. You’ve got to love that! This will get you to your Horse Power ribbon quickly and your Arborist or Farmhand ribbons faster including 100+ XP that goes with them.

African-American men have a distinct need for individuality and personal expression. Thus, their hairstyles can vary according to what they want to express. Black men with long hair have the advantage over those with shorter hair since they can style their hair in many different ways. African-American hair is very curly but this is its strongest feature. Curls are very versatile in any kind of hairstyle.

While a lot of black men prefer to wear their hair short, there are men who love having long hair. This is really dependent on their personalities and their openness in wearing long hair. The most common styles for black men with long hair are dreadlocks, cornrows, and afros. Dreadlocks consist of thick strands twisted or braided. Cornrows, on the other hand, consist of a braided style which keeps the braids close to the scalp. Cornrows are similar to a small French braid. An afro hairstyle is a popular hairstyle for men since it brings about the natural style of a black man’s hair. This style allows the hair to stand out like a puff on a person’s head.

It doesn’t matter if your hair is long or short whatever style you choose, that is your preference. Examine your look in the mirror and ask yourself if your choice of style is suited to you. Just remember that the best hair style is that which suits your facial shape and your hair care needs. You should know these factors first before you choose your hairstyle.

In the past, the choices one had to decide between for golf shoes, particularly women’s golf shoes, were not that plentiful. There were one or two styles, just slightly different from one another, and size. Metal spikes were fairly standard (although flat bottom, smooth shoes are also available). But the appearance did not give much to be excited about.

Now, though, the shoe industry has finally caught up with demand, and there are a LOT of choices between shoe style, both visually and in terms of construction. One of the first choices is whether you want spikes or not. If you do, chances are you will be going with rubber or plastic spikes, since the traditional metal spikes have generally fallen out of fashion (and are banned from many golf courses both in the U.S. and Europe).

Next you will want to decide what design you are going for. Many women’s golf shoes take the traditional styles and adapt them with a slightly more feminine, but still delightfully classic (and classy) appearance. Saddle shoe style golf shoes are a great example of this, boasting the timeless black and white (or brown and white or even more colors) in a way that still has modern appeal.

Or you can go with wing-tip golf shoes. This is sophisticated and elegant, while still plenty capable. There are modern wing-tip styles as well as more traditional, old-fashioned inspired types. Whatever style you are looking for is probably an option.

However, there are plenty of women’s golf shoes that are even more modern than just an updated saddle shoe. With a wealth of natural and synthetic materials to choose from, these shoes have really come a long way.

For example, you can easily get shoes that look more athletic or casual yet still provide the essential features you want in a golfing shoe. Canvas or leather (suede or otherwise) are great options, and these often include the rubber spikes that make golfing easier, without sacrificing modern and independent style choices.

However, as important as style is, it’s also good to note that many golf courses outlaw athletic or ‘street’ shoes. This may make you want to choose women’s golfing shoes that maintain some of the traditional appearances (such as saddle shoes, mentioned above). Just because your shoes have golf spikes and are worn only for golf, this does not mean that others may not doubt them based on appearance. This is a hassle that is simply not worth it.

And finally, don’t forget comfort. Style isn’t everything. You deserve women’s golf shoes that are comfortable and supportive. They should fit snugly but not too tight, and should not rub or irritate your skin. It’s important to look good and feel good on the course, but you won’t feel good if you’re sporting blisters.
